About This Place

Nestled along State Hwy 46 in the heart of Blackduck, MN, Hoot-N-Holler is the quintessential small-town bar that radiates warmth, genuine hospitality, and a lively spirit. This cash-only hotspot is more than just a place to grab a drink – it’s a vibrant community hub where locals and visitors alike find both comfort and camaraderie.

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with an atmosphere that’s unpretentiously inviting, where the bartender’s friendly and quick service sets the tone for a relaxed yet spirited outing. Whether you're winding down after an adventurous day or gathering with friends, Hoot-N-Holler serves up memorable experiences. It’s evident in the lively chatter, the dozen dollar bills pinned up around the bar, and the frequent smiles shared between barstools.

While the menu is intimate, the offerings pack a punch. The Castle Danger Cream Ale is a local favorite, perfectly crisp and refreshing – an ideal companion for the bar’s delicious cheese pizza, which comes out with a flavorful crust and melty cheese. Even if occasionally a pizza comes with a slight char, the staff’s gracious handling ensures everyone leaves happy and eager to return. And for a non-alcoholic treat, the house root beer delivers a nostalgic, effervescent sweetness that complements the bar’s cozy surroundings.

What truly makes Hoot-N-Holler stand apart is its genuine sense of community. As one travelling CNA shared, the locals’ kindness and the bartenders’ warmth create a comforting haven when the road feels lonely. Another visitor fondly recalls shared laughs over a free beer gifted by a generous local – a small but powerful testament to the bar’s friendly, down-to-earth vibe.

Adding to the draw is the unexpected luxury of free WiFi in an area otherwise hard to get service – a thoughtful touch that shows the team’s care for guests’ needs beyond just the classic bar experience.

In an area where entertainment options can be sparse, Hoot-N-Holler shines as a treasured gathering spot that feels like an extended living room filled with good drinks, hearty food, and even better company. Whether you're part of a group of ATV riders or a first-time traveler looking for a welcoming spot to unwind, you’ll find the authenticity and charm that have patrons like Mike Schultz promising to come back for more.

Ok so the pizza got a little burnt and we had a long wait time but we were in no hurry as I had the day off. Yea the bartender made it right with us for the burnt pizza and we left on a happy note. Will definitely come back again in the future. loved the fact that no matter where you sit there are tons of $1 bills

Fun small town bar. Got a few free beers from a drunk local- which was most appreciated. Not a huge menu, but good pizza. Really nice staff. Fun place in an area that doesn't offer much. Free WiFi in an area that you can't get service. Will come back next time we are at the cabin.

Cool place. Just passing through on our way to LOTW. The bar rail was pretty full and just the one bar tender working. She was very friendly and working hard, but she could have used some help. Nice atmosphere and would definitely stop again.

Truly, this is a great bar. The atmosphere is fun, the staff is great, and they have great beer on tap. There are dollar bills taped all over the walls and ceiling, with some very interesting things written on them I also like how out of the way this place is.

Nice bar, they had lotzza motzza pizzas, had a couple beers as well, and they have a ton of pull tabs. Good stop on my way up to lake of the woods. Probably gonna stop again next time, I liked it.
